Week 1 went fairly well. Unfortunately I am not yet at the “maintenance” stage. So far I have gone through a lot of stuff to clean it out, and I got rid of a lot of stuff, which always feels awesome. The closet in the guest room is starting to empty out, finally. I only did two loads of dishes, which is kind of silly, but it’s better than nothing.
My bathroom is currently a disaster area. I’m trying to clean out things I won’t use. It’s much harder than it seems like it should be! I may need to have someone come over and help me go through each item and say “Yes I use this” or “No I will never use this” to get this figured out! My goal for this week is to get the bathroom done, then clean it top to bottom, and clean the kitchen top to bottom. Wish me luck!

One week down! So far so good. I am definitely noticing an improvement in the situps and girly pushups. The running program has all been walking so far, which I was already good at, so I haven’t really noticed anything there yet, but tomorrow we begin adding in running, so I’ll be noticing something! Here’s hoping it’s improvement and not coughing up my lungs.
Running: 30 minutes of easy effort walking.
Situps: 5 sets with 60 seconds resting between each set. The sets were 17, 22, 14, 14, and as many as I can do but at least 20. I ended with 20 on the last one for a total of 87. I may have been able to do more, but I was running short on time.
Girly Pushups: 5 sets with 120 seconds resting between each set. The sets were 8, 10, 7, 7, and as many as I can do but at least 10. I ended with 10 on the last one for a total of 42. Again, short on time.
One week down!
This was pretty similar to yesterday, food-wise. Banana and Spritzer for breakfast (strawberry – yum!), rice and steamed baby brussel sprouts for lunch, those same garlic onion rice crackers in the afternoon, and Rice Chex by the handful on the couch again for the evening. I will be planning real meals Saturday with Mandee, so hopefully that will end.
Biking has continued on the stationary, flossing is continuing every evening, and waking has continued at 7:00AM every morning.

Nails: I need to pick up some new gloves. I’ve been picking at them, and one index finger is nearly entirely exposed now. I have some tape wrapped around it! Good thing they’re so cheap. I did stop in at Target last night and was going to get some then, but they didn’t have the game I was looking for and the checkout lines started back somewhere around Toothpaste, so I got out of there as soon as I could without getting a thing. I’ll go with stretch gloves for a while until I can pick up a new pair. They’re a bit clumsier for typing, but they work.
Flossing: I have a thing of floss next to my bed to remind me to evening floss. This is working pretty well.
Sleep: Isn’t it supposed to be getting easier as I progress through this? This week has been hard for waking up on time. Though I think I am getting better, though, because I haven’t been napping. Woo!
Biking: Nothing exciting. Stationary.
I biked from one end of my parents’ street to the other and back after Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. It’s a short street with cul-de-sacs on both ends. There’s a street that branches off of their street with another cul-de-sac, so I looped in there on my way back. It wasn’t a long ride since I had somewhere to be after it, but I did have my first dog-related freak-out. I was biking in the evening, so it’s pitch black out, and there aren’t many street lights in this residential neighborhood. I hear a loud dog out of nowhere, and I immediately started panicking about the horror-stories I’ve read about trying to be faster than the dog at your heels. I finally muster up the courage to look back and saw that the dog was just exceptionally loud… and still in his kennel.
Phew! Panic over! It still wasn’t pleasant biking past him on my way back, but it wasn’t too bad since I knew he couldn’t get me.
